Pedodontics

The smiles of the little ones are safe

Dental care starts early. Habits developed in childhood help maintain oral health, and at Dentelo Clinic, we work with patience and empathy so that little ones feel safe and understood at every visit.

Why is dental care important for children?

Baby teeth play an essential role: they allow for proper nutrition, help with speech, and prepare the way for permanent teeth to erupt. Untreated problems can affect the normal development of teeth and jawbones, and can lead to pain, infections, or even fear of the dentist.

At an early age, prevention means more than treatment: it means learning, familiarization, and trust.

When is the right time to take your child to the dentist?

  • When the first teeth appear or around 1 year of age
  • If you notice stains, cavities or discoloration on the teeth
  • If the child complains of pain or discomfort
  • If baby teeth do not fall out on time or permanent teeth appear in the wrong positions
  • As part of a prevention program – we recommend check-ups every 3-6 months

Bottle caries
A problem that can be prevented!

Baby bottle decay is a common condition in young children, caused by prolonged contact of teeth with sweetened liquids – milk, sugary tea or juices. It usually affects the upper front teeth, but can also affect other teeth and can progress quickly and painfully if left untreated.

What promotes the appearance of baby bottle cavities?

  • Sleeping with a bottle in his mouth
  • Sweetening milk or tea
  • Frequent snacking between meals without oral hygiene
  • Lack of tooth brushing after the first teeth appear

How they can be prevented?

  • Avoid letting your baby fall asleep with a baby bottle
  • Do not offer sweetened liquids
  • Clean your baby's gums daily, even before teeth appear
  • Start brushing as soon as the first tooth appears, according to the dentist's instructions
  • Schedule your child's first visit to the dentist by the age of 1
