Gum health supports dental health

Gum disease affects more people than we think. If ignored in the early stages, it can eventually lead to tooth mobility, tooth loss, and even affect your overall health condition.

At Dentelo Clinic, periodontal treatments are personalized and aim to maintain healthy gingival and bone support through interventions that stabilize periodontal disease and regenerate certain tissues.

Why is important to maintain gum health?

For teeth stability
Gums and bone support the teeth. If these structures deteriorate, the entire dentition can be affected
For overall health condition
Periodontal disease can increase the risk of systemic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease
For prevenion, not just reaction
Many signs of periodontal disease are less noticeable in the early stages. But your dentist, as well as your periodontist, can identify them in time

How does periodontal treatment work

at Dentelo Clinic?

Periodontal consultation

The periodontist assesses gums condition, measures the depth of the periodontal pockets and determines any areas of inflammation. The degree of bone damage is also assessed based on 3D radiographs. Samples can also be taken for microbiological testing, which are sent to the laboratory to determine the exact type of bacteria associated with periodontal disease

Initial therapy

It begins with professional cleaning, subgingival scaling, brushing and other interventions considered necessary. Depending on the need, the treatment can also be associated with adjuvant laser procedures

Re-evaluation

After approximately 6-8 weeks, a check-up is performed to check the progress of the treatment and decide whether additional steps are needed

Surgical treatment (if required)

In advanced condition cases, interventions can be performed to reduce periodontal pockets (closed/open field curettage, etc.) and regenerate affected tissues (gingival grafts, bone addition, etc.)

Maintaining results on long-term

It is essential to attend regular check-ups, follow personalized oral hygiene instructions, and avoid risk factors as much as possible (smoking, diabetes, chronic drug use, dental crowding, etc.)
